DESCRIPTION: This spindle-shaped gall that can either be attached to a twig, petiole or midrib and is up to 3mm long, is hard and starts off greeniish before typically turning red. Occasionally the gall may be ridged and is usually found in groups of 3 or 4. The picture above is caused by the asexual stage of a gall wasp. DISTRIBUTION: Common throughout. HABITAT: Occasional on the leaves of Turkey Oak.
